Fuzzy Tail Bookmarker

Easy to Knit Beginners Project

Oct 2, 2006 Elizabeth Yetter

A quick five minute project using leftover novelty eyelash yarn and a bead.

Like the Simple Knit Fuzzy Bookmarker, this is another bookmarker you can knit using leftover eyelash yarn. Unlike the previous bookmarker, however, this one uses a bead; the perfect way to use up those odd beads you have lying around from past projects.

What you need: leftover eyelash yarn, size 13 US (9.0 mm) knitting needles, and pony bead or other craft bead.

The gauge is unimportant. I use a number of different brands of eyelash novelty yarn and continue to use the same amount of stitches and rows for each bookmarker.

Cast on 20 sts.

Knit rows 1 and 2. Bind off on second row.

Add a tassel with bead to one end of the fuzzy bookmarker. To do this, I leave a 4 inch tail at the start and finish of the bookmarker (you start and finish at the same end) when I knit it. I then cut two 8 inch strands of yarn and pull one end of both strands through the bookmarker end. Finally, use a yarn needle to take all 6 strands of yarn through the bead and knot the yarn strands to hold the bead on. Trim the tassel to make the yarn strands even in length.
