It's the holiday gift season once again and it's time to head out to the bookstore in the hopes of finding just the right book for gift giving.
It can be difficult to find the right book for preteen boys, especially if one isn’t familiar with the numerous titles and series available on the shelves. This article will help parents and family members decide which genre of book is best for the recipient and make the search for the perfect gift easier. Favorite MoviesMany boys have favorite movies that are watched over and over again. Find out what is being watched and do a search at any large, online bookstore to see if the movie also has a series of books to go with it. For example, there are Dinotopia paperback books for kids, ages 9 to 12 that are put out through Random House Books for Young Readers. Star Wars is another popular movie for boys and there are several paperback series available for preteens, such as The Last Jedi Series and the Jedi Quest series by author Jude Watson. Try fantasy adventure books, a favorite genre for many preteen boys. For boys, ages 9 to 12, check out the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. Dragon lovers will dive right into the Dragon Codex books by R.D. Henham and the Dragon Slayers' Academy books by Kate McMullan SportsFootball, basketball, soccer, and hockey. Not Into Books?Finally, if the gift recipient isn’t into books but likes the Sunday comics, check out what stores have in the way of young adult graphic novels. These books are great for kids who don’t like to read or who feel overwhelmed by pages and pages of words.
