Make a simple, unique notebook using felt, ribbon, and glue.

Making felt covered notebooks is incredibly easy and fun. All you need is a school-type composition notebook (about 7-1/ 2 by 9-1/ 2 inches), 3/ 8 yard felt, glue, and items to decorate the cover.

To make, spread the glue over the front and back cover. Press the felt onto the cover, smoothing it out as you go. Allow the glue to dry.

Once the glue is dry, trim away the excess felt. Glue on ribbon or cord to decorate the edges. A patch or other flat emblem can be glued onto the cover.

Tweens love personalizing their stuff. Making felt covered notebooks is just one way that they can make themselves unique address books and writing journals.
