Kids Knit, by Sarah Bradberry, is a wonderful children’s introduction to knitting.

Kids Knit: Simple Steps to Nifty Projects is the perfect book for introducing children to the world of knitting.

First and foremost, Kids Knit provides step-by-step lessons to teach children the basics of knitting. Knitting instructors, as well as knitting parents, will benefit from the knitting lessons in Kids Knit because it will give them a basic knitting curriculum to follow.

Following each lesson is one or more simple knitting projects that children will enjoy making and using. These projects include a washcloth, headband, sunglass case, doll blanket, doll, scrunchie, amulet bag, ribbed scarf, cat toy, house cushion, teddy bear puppet, kerchief, bookmarker, potholder, drawstring purse, fashion doll dress, backpack, coaster, placemat, and tote bag.

My daughter, who chose this book, enjoyed the knitting projects immensely. All the projects were something that she could complete relatively quick and use. My son, however, was disappointed the book's focus on projects for girls. He continues to hope that there will soon be a book published for boys who love to knit.
